FBC Waco received its 2017 church directory at the end of December. A few weeks before, a copy of the 1877 church manual authored and compiled by J.W. Speight, Church Clerk, and produced by Drake & Lehr Printers of Waco, was discovered in a cache of old church records. The well-worn copy was apparently the property of W.H. Jenkins whose name is written in pencil on the front cover as well as the first page. Judge Jenkins , the son-in-law of Col. Speight, later also served as Church Clerk.
